It's from an old Woman's Weekly cookbook. I'll email it to you so you can check it out if you would like to. :) Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05085387707813881571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32492687.post-33827942902920097072014-12-18T08:53:54.093-08:002014-12-18T08:53:54.093-08:00[ Smiles ] Lovely! The rest of the family makes fun of us but it grows on you and gets addictive, especially with big chunks of Brazilian nuts and pecans in it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32492687.post-73318421963925241722014-12-17T21:17:30.279-08:002014-12-17T21:17:30.279-08:00I love fruitcake and it's a shame it gets such...I love fruitcake and it's a shame it gets such a bad rap! I like to soak my fruit for a few weeks prior to baking (usually after Halloween) using this 'Original' in this recipe http://www.thepinkwhisk.co.uk/2012/09/time-to-start-your-christmas-cake.html . I usually use this cake recipe (not vegan, but I'm certain I just subbed vegan butter and a ton of flax eggs?) http://www.thepinkwhisk.co.uk/2012/10/christmas-cake-baking-time.html

The big cake never gets eaten and such a waste throw out after all that effort, next year I'm going to use a square tin like you and cut them down, or try to bake in cupcake molds.

Mmm I skipped making a cake this year and now totally regret it!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04516571480924386249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32492687.post-8550497126758359782014-12-17T12:18:13.628-08:002014-12-17T12:18:13.628-08:00I'll have to send you the veganized version of...I'll have to send you the veganized version of the Man's great-grandmother's fruitcake...which she calls 'Date-Nut Cake'...it's yummy...and it's soaked in brandy too...

~Have a lovely day!affectioknithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00956694289800463441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32492687.post-71996385362677123012014-12-17T09:34:47.631-08:002014-12-17T09:34:47.631-08:00My mom loves fruitcake. Every year people give them to her, and then she puts them in the freezer and treats herself to small slices with coffee until all of the cake has disappeared. However, because of its bad press and now because it's not vegan, I've never tried it! I hope someone gives you some great advice on vegan fruitcakes, because then I can bake one for my mom and add it to her collection!Cadry's Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05019006252875213755noreply@blogger.com
