Product Review: Isabella's Cookie Company

Sometimes I get contacted by companies who would like to send me a product for possible review. A lot of times, the thing they have to offer just isn't up my alley. Sometimes, I'll receive it, but not really fall in love. Other times, I'll get something in the mail, and find a new treat I love that I'm eager to recommend. This is one of those times!

The folks at Isabella's Cookie Company make seven different varieties of vegan cookies (and many others that aren't vegan), and they sent me their two newest flavors to try out: Vegan Red Velvet, and Vegan Ginger. I think these are my favorite store-bought cookies ever! They are super moist and full of flavor. Plus, they're perfectly sized for my liking: not depressingly puny and not excessively giant either. Just right. Each cookie is only 110 calories, which is pretty awesome for such a satisfying and tasty treat.

The Vegan Red Velvet cookies were our favorite. They are dark red, with just the right amount of cocoa flavor. I always think of Red Velvet as just a bit chocolatey - you should be able to taste it - but it shouldn't be as mega-chocolatey as a 100% purebred chocolate cookie. These cookies have it down! Plus they're moist and substantive. Chewy and dense, and you really feel like you are having a true cookie experience.

The Vegan Ginger Cookies were also great and lucky for me, Mr VE&T doesn't really like ginger cookies (mwahahaha!), so I got more of these for myself. I also shared these cookies at a party we hosted recently and they were a big hit. Everyone agreed that they were really good - and judging by the fact that there were none left over, I'd say they were right.

The Isabella's cookies are sold in some stores (check the website's store locator), but you can also order them online. For a pretty big bag with 10 cookies in it, the cost is $7... which I think is really reasonable. They have lots of other vegan flavors that I look forward to trying like Peanut Butter, Oatmeal + Chocolate Chip, Chocolate with Chocolate Chips... yum! Plus, I have to say, their website is super cute, and I like their little cookie cartoon graphics. They're right up my alley. :)

  3. I like the clever names they have on the packages. Probably not gluten-free, though. :(

  4. They look incredible! Totally my kind of cookie, apart from the fact that they are over on the other side of the Atlantic...
