Two Veganomicon Dips

Recently, I made two of the dips/spreads from Veganomicon for my friend Lorraine's bachelorette party. They were both fantastic!

In front you'll see the superb "Mediterranean-Style Cashew-Cucumber Dip." I loved this stuff! It's cool, creamy, and cucumbery. I made some lovely tea sandwiches with it, and they were a big hit. It's like those old commercials, "I can't believe it's not butter!" - I couldn't believe the flavor and texture of this dip with no dairy. Right on!

Next up, I made the "Sun-Dried Tomato Dip," which was also a big hit. A nicely textured dip filled with the flavor of sun-dried tomatoes without being at all overpowering, which sometimes happens with sun-dried tomato flavored dishes.

I took both of these delicious, innocent dips, and turned them into tea sandwiches. Since it was a bachelorette party, after all, the sandwiches were cut into - shall we say - unmentionable shapes. So, I am too shy to post those pictures and besmirch my own good name! Use your imagination! Or maybe that'll just be worse! Ha ha. Anyhow, 5-stars for these dips... go give 'em a try.

  4. Man, I'd give anything to see the naughty sandwiches! Hee hee. I really crave some nice tea sandwiches sometimes- with watercress for crunch! My friend is borrowing my Veganomicon, but when I get it back, I'm totally checking out these dips.

  6. I don't really like cucumber that much, but both dips look absolutely great! I think I might give it a try in warm summer days!
