I have a lot of cute of dishtowels... (and a lot of stained and grungy ones too - unpictured!). Almost all of these were gifts from my aunt L, who always finds super cute household gifties. I love all the fruity ones on the right - fruit baskets, cherries, strawberries, what fun! I also have some cute doggie ones... what did you expect!?
Really, we don't use cloth napkins all that often... I guess I am a tidy eater! When I was growing up we each had a cloth napkin at our place at the table every night. And it was always "put your napkin on your lap" before starting to eat. But nowadays, I don't use one too often, and when I do, it's usually just one of our basic solid green or solid black napkins. But these are our special, pretty napkins. I love those fishie napkins on the left, they are from a fair trade shop and I actually have 6 of them. In theory, we could have 4 people over and everyone would have a matching napkin! I also love those giraffe and chick napkins - but really, all white?! - I'm afraid to use them because I don't want to stain them. Also, we only have 2 of each. Even though they are obviously from the same designer, giraffes and chicks don't exactly go together, conceptually speaking! On the right, more pretty cherries from aunt L. :)
Tablecloths! These two are so pretty, and are also really big ... so I can use them on my patio table in the backyard. They are perfect for spring and early summer when we can finally enjoy the back yard again after winter.
This cool tablecloth is technically a bedsheet but I use it as a tablecloth... I bought it in India, and I love it so much. It's pretty big (again, good for our long patio table), and is covered in all sorts of cool images of little people and animals doing their activities. So cute!
Lastly, and not at all leastly, my little collection of retro linens. I love these! The crazy mexi themed one on the top right is actually just a runner, but I love the bright colors. On the bottom left is another funny mexi them, a tablecloth with various things like sombreros and a little pueblo house and tropical fruit... On the bottom right is a pretty plain retro floral tablecloth, but I like its nice floral designs. Most of all, most favoritist is the one in the top left. I love it!
You can see its even got the stains to prove it. Isn't it beautiful!?
Well, that wraps up my Week of Favorites! Thanks for reading! From here on out I'm just gonna go freestylin', theme-free for the rest of MoFo... stay tuned!

I love seeing your collections, saved, found, cherished! That guitar cookie cutter is too much. The linens are beautiful. I understand not wanting to use them.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so fun to read about your man and your favorite things. What a fun blog!
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful collection of kitchen linens. It makes me pine for mine, which I left packed away when we moved across the country.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI lived with my grandparents when I was little and they were very much appropriate table linens for every occasion kind of people. As a result, I've got an abiding love for things like matching napkins... but just can't seem to incorporate them into my day to day life. It's a different world we live in, I guess.
