Gingerbread Yoga People & Cookbooklette Winners!

This week, I decided to make cookies for all of my yoga classes. I teach Monday-Friday, so that's a lot of cookies! When it came to deciding what kind of cookie to make, there was really only one choice: Gingerbread Yogis! Last year I bought one set of these excellent yoga cookie cutters, and I loved them so much that this year I bought the other set - so now I have TEN different yoga poses!

As you can see, they are incredibly super cute. For the cookies, I used my favorite old standby recipe from "Joy of Cooking," only slightly veganized. So far, they've been a big hit with everyone! Also, it's a really easy recipe to crank out, because I made a bunch of batches of the dough on the weekend, and it keeps in the fridge for at least 8 days. So, every day I just pull out one or two batches of dough, cook up a sheet of ginger yogis (and they only bake for 8 minutes!) - and I'm good to go. Very easy!

I also made a big batch of gluten-free gingerbread people - because I know some of my students are GF. I used Mandee's recipe from this post, and they've been a big hit too! (I also made some of the xgfx ones as regular gingerbread people for my gluten-free cousin).

  5. I remember your adorable cookies from last year! So super cute! And what a good idea to make the dough at once but to do the cookies in batches. When you only have to do a few at a time, it doesn't seem like such a big project. There are some lucky yogis in the world today! :)

I'm so excited that I won a copy of your awesome cookbooklette! What a sweet early Christmas surprise!! :)

  12. Seriously, cutest gingerbread people ever! The cutters are ingenious, but it's really your icing skills that bring them to life. It wouldn't be nearly as successful a design without those perfect outlines.

And yay, yay, yay! Can't wait to pour over the latest zine.
