VidaVeganCon: A Weekend of Friendship!

Well, I'm finally home from VidaVeganCon (aka VVC2013), and finally caught up enough on sleep to do some blogging! What a wonderful experience. Just like my little doodle says, I am still floating around town on post-VVC Love.

Hands down, my favorite thing about the whole con:
The people!

I re-met old friends from the last VVC, I newly-met old friends from the net who I'd never met in person, and I met loads of new-to-me bloggers for the very first time. The conference is full of all sorts of people, all shapes and sizes, all sorts of fashion choices, ages, and so on, but every time I met someone new, there was an unspoken enthusiasm to focus on what we all have in common, rather than what sets us apart from one another. I can't even tell you what a wonderful thing that is to experience.

just a FEW of the wonderful people with whom I shared smiles, conversations, and friendship

I was absolutely beaming with joy and friendship, and even though I was so busy having fun that I only slept about 5 hours a night, I was completely high on vegan love and enthusiasm. Sharing conversations, smiles, and love for veganism with so many people was an absolute delight. There were so many more lovely people that I hardly had a chance to connect with - it made me wish that VVC was a whole week long!

Also, I came home with about 50 new blogs to check out. FUN.

I think I'm going to do a series of posts coming up soon about the new-to-me bloggers that I met. If we met at the con, leave me a comment and tell me your blog, so I can be sure to check it out and share it.

    2. Please do, so I can take one home and plant it! I mean this in a lovely way, not a 'premise for a b-grade horror movie' way.

Truly, meeting so many creative, passionate people in one place was the best part of the weekend. You just ooze positivity, Amey, as I knew you would! It was so great getting to soak some of that up in person! :)

  16. Ha! The illustration is spot on! I had my two suitcases that I had meticulously packed so nothing would get smashed or broken, with the heaviest stuff in the carry on and etc. I also had the leftovers of my last meal- buffalo curl sub from Sweet Hereafter -in hand. It was sooo good. I'm glad I got to meet you at VVC and discover your blog. I also love love love the cookbooklette. Thank you!
