Corn Chowder : 'Tis the Season!!

In the dead of winter, I'll be flipping through my cookbooks looking for dinner ideas and every single recipe that catches my eye is full of tomatoes and eggplant and zucchini and corn. Wrong season, self. So, I just have to move on to the cabbage recipes, and make a mental note to come back someday. In the middle of winter, that someday feels so far away...

Well, friends, that day has come! The markets are full of summery goodness and I am stoked! My friend Alana reminded me about the Summer Lovin' Curried Corn and Veggie Chowder recipe from Appetite from Reduction, which I still hadn't tried. Let's just say that by the time I could even get my act together to publish this blog post, I had already made this recipe three times. I LOVE IT. It's so beautiful, so easy, so tasty, and just bursting with summery glory. Just what I've been dreaming of!

p.s. I made you two corn doodles, because I just couldn't stop my corn enthusiasm.
Corn Deely-Boppers
do you remember deely-boppers?!

corn can look a little unkempt sometimes

  1. It's such a shame that it can't be summer forever. I mean, I like pumpkin and winter squash and all, but ...

I need to make this corn soup before it's too late. Everything I've ever made froom AfR has been amazing!

  2. I haven't made this one yet, thanks for the suggestion. My favourite way to eat corn is just gnawing it off the cob :)

  7. Beautiful! I'm only just beginning to see corn at the markets around here, and I'm excited. I haven't actually made that recipe (what?) but I heart the corn chowder in VWAV so, so much. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Corn just came into season here! I've only made this recipe once and it's definitely in need of a repeat.
