Today's MoFo Prompt: "It's kitchen tour time!"
Hello MoFo friends, and welcome to my kitchen. Our kitchen is pretty good. I don't think the people who lived here before us enjoyed cooking as much as I do, because when we moved in, it was a weird space that was really not dialed in for cooking. We've made so many improvements -- we put in the pantry shelves, the giant cutting board, a better trash/recycling drawer, the pots and pans rack, and a sun tube for more light. Plus, at some point, the stove broke down, which was sort of a bummer in the moment -- but we took the opportunity to upgrade to a gas stove/oven and I really love it. I wouldn't mind having a giant fancy kitchen with lots of shelf space for my gadgets and such... but overall, I'm grateful for a nice space for all my culinary adventures.
Instead of taking lots of pictures, I thought I'd offer up a quick little video tour of our kitchen.
I hope you like it!
Loved your tour! Think lots of us vegans have the spice issue ;) Lovely to meet your animals at the end.
ReplyDeleteGREAT tour -- I felt I was right there with you. And congratulations on the Deep Clean. Always satisfying once it's done!
ReplyDeleteA video is a great idea! Definitely easier to get a sense of space than through photos. Your L-shaped kitchen is lovely and homey, especially when filled with pups and kitties!
ReplyDeleteI loved the video!! I am very jealous of your kitchen. Stay tuned for mine, it's about 1/8 the size of yours. I have the same pantry and spice problems that you have, but that's okay, especially since I know I don't suffer from it in solitude. My favorite podcasts to listen to while I'm cooking are The Real Housewives Of Bohemia, a feminist podcast, and recently I started listening to The Bearded Vegans, an ethical vegan podcast. Hope you like them!
ReplyDeleteawesome!! I will check out the podcasts you suggested! thanks kzcakes!
DeleteYour kitchen is awesome! It was so fun to watch your video & to see everyone come in for a "cookie," haha! :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVED your tour! Forget the kitchen: you were so funny and genuine! I have been reading you blog forever. It was fun to see all your cartoons come alive!
ReplyDelete"Who wants cookies?"...that is so adorable! Your kitchen looks like a happy and nourishing place for the spirit and the tummy! I love that chopping block!!
ReplyDeleteI loved the tour! Now when I read your blog and see your delicious meals, I can visualize your kitchen, which is extremely nice. My cabinets needs organizing & I too am "working on it" :) Loved the critter cameos - you draw them exactly how they look!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tour, especially fun to see the kids. :) Your kitchen looks great, really fun. I am seriously impressed by that spice collection.
ReplyDeleteI love your entourage! Very nice tour and kitchen. Very functional.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your L shaped kitchen! You have so many pans... and so many rolling pins! I have one rolling pin now, but for years I would use an old bottle of wine to roll things.
ReplyDeleteI want your dogs in my kitchen, they seem so adorable!!
I liked the term "overflow spices" =) And I don't like matching dishes, plates, mugs, etc. Variety is more real. =)
Thank you for that video, it was fun!
Ha loved this! Love how everyone comes running for cookies, I know the feeling (i.e. running for a cookie). I went to Ikea today and drooled over some kitchens and hung out there a bit too long.
ReplyDeleteI <3 every second of your tour! Your enthusiasm and gratitude for every corner is so sweet, the kind of energy every vegan kitchen deserves and those wagging tails! Yummer's little me-ow!
ReplyDeleteCute Video! Loved the tour, too! Awesome! MyBlissfulJourney.com
ReplyDeleteThis was so so cute! I'm super inspired to do one eventually, but it'll probably be late!
ReplyDeleteThis was such great tour, Amey! Your kitchen is huuuuge, and I'm jelly. I keep my vitamins in the kitchen too. Next to my coffee stuff so I don't forget :)
ReplyDeletegah, this was so adorable!! loved seeing the babies come running for their cookies. <3 as for podcasts, my favorites are: citizen radio, last name basis, struggle bus, and i've just started listening to the bearded vegans. i also like comedy bang bang, depending on the guests. ;)
