Celebration Roast

Yum yum yum yum YUM! I tried one of these a while back, but I recently picked up a "Celebration Roast" after my friend Jocelyn reminded me of how great they are. Musty's mom arrived from Florida for Thanksgiving today, and they had already had dinner by the time I got home from teaching. So I had some of my leftover squash-chestnut soup (added in some brown rice), and a few slices of the roast. I heated the slices on a skillet, and they were super delicious. I have to say, I liked the Tofurkey, but I much preferred this special item. Check it out!

ps. I also had some salad, so don't be worried that I didn't have any veggies!

Wow, I'd never even heard of a celebration roast, but it does look really nice!
By the way, I loved reading your anniversary post- crepes! Yum. And I for one liked the sound of your miso soup, I love miso.
Have a great holiday with the family!

Thanks! I'd love to hear what sorts of things you do with miso... i'm looking to experiment with it some more!

I've never bought that roast, but I've sampled it a few times - and was really dissapointed to see that field roast wasn't at the recent veg fair I went to.
Gah, it's tasty. It's something 'processed' that doesn't taste bad at all.

  4. Hi Jess,
Yeah, I agree, even though it's "processed" it's really good. I'm surprised that they weren't at the Portland veg fair - I think that company is based in Seattle, right? I remember sampling their products for the first time when I was living in Seattle.

I've never seen the "Celebration Roast" but it looks very good! I want to even try making my own roasts from scratch. (this could be disasterous!) I found a few recipes on Bryanna Clarke's blog, but didn't have enough time to pull it all together for Thanksgiving. I went for the Tofurkey deal. Lol! I agree with you that it's not my favorite either, but it's ok. The stuffing is awesome!!

Anyhow, this Celebration Roast looks yummy!

  6. Hi Candi!
I agree with you 100% on the Tofurkey situation - great gravy and stuffing, just okay otherwise. But this celebration roast is seriously delish. It doesn't come with any of the other goodies though... I get Bryanna's newletter, and I'm always looking at all her fancy "meats" - they look so amazing, but so far I'm a bit intimidated. I guess once I finally try one, the flood gates might just burst open!
