Vegan Shoe Review: Jambu Mango Vegan

Vegan Shoe Review!

Here I am, kicking it in Palm Springs, watching tennis with my fancy new Jambu Mango Vegan shoes on. Last month we went down to Palm Springs for our annual trip to the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament.* I look forward to this desert adventure every year - we usually spend a couple days watching tennis and then leave at least one whole day to explore the desert.

This year I brought along one of the new pairs of shoes that Jambu had sent me to review - a pair of light sneakers called the Mango Knit Sneaker. Jambu makes a good array of styles of vegan shoes for women - from kick around sandals to boots to winter shoes to sneakers and more.

I LOVE these Mango Vegans so much. First of all, I love that the faux leather on the tongue and on the heel are styled in sparkly metallic material. I love sparkly shoes!! While I was sitting watching this match, the lady behind me tapped me on my shoulder and asked what kind of shoes I was wearing because she wanted a pair. That's how cute they are. Of course I told her, and I also gave her my coupon code! ha ha.

*don't worry dessert fans, I have two more vegan dessert posts coming your way soon!*

-- Goofball alert --
The Indian Wells tournament had this flowery bench set up for selfies, so of course I was all in!

As you can see I like to wear these shoes with no socks, but they also feel nice with socks. These Mango Vegans are so extremely comfortable. The insoles are made with memory foam, and they feel smooshy and cozy on my feet. The outer part of the shoe is knit, so the shoes are very aerated. I love a good snug fit, and somehow these shoes fit like a sock! There's a great amount of arch support and they feel snug, but not constrictive. I really love them!

I usually wear a size 9 and these shoes fit me true to size. I love that they're proper lace-up shoes, so I can make them looser if I'm wearing socks and more snug when I'm sock-free. These shoes are definitely warmer than flip flops or sandals, but they're very light and airy and don't feel at all stifling in warm weather. And yet, when we were in the desert, it was actually quite chilly at night and my feet didn't get too cold, as long as I had some socks on. So, the Mango shoes are pretty versatile in that regard!

close-ups!

The Mangos have some pretty cool styling - a really nice firm support under the arch (which feels really good on my high arches when I'm wearing them), and then a nice springy sneaker soles under the heel and the ball of the foot. The fabric on the main part of the shoe is a sturdy knit, with metallic faux leather on the heel and the tongue of the shoe.

The Mango shoes come in two colors: grey/silver and navy
I went for navy, obviously, since I am devoted fan of all things blue!!

When we go to see the tennis we get "grounds passes" and we don't pay the big $$ to see the most famous players on the big main court. Luckily they have a huge screen and lots and lots of Adirondack chairs so that people like us can watch the matches on the screen. It's a really fun scene. This night, we were watching a great match between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka -- so good!

These Mango sneakers are comfy and knit, but somehow they also manage to look super snazzy and grown-up. I think they are basically Dress Sneakers -- a most welcome new category of footwear in my wardrobe. They're easy to dress up a bit or dress down... with nice pants all the way to yoga tights! I have been wearing them all the time - going out to dinner, heading off to teach yoga, trips to the farmers market, and on and on. So far I haven't found any reason not to wear them!!
