Also, I have been watching a lot of Olympics. Can you tell?
Carrots and Olympics, these are the things on my mind these days.
I totally understand the carrot love! Oftentimes when I'm chopping carrots for a salad, I snag a bite or two and am blown away by the wonderful earthy flavor. Then I pull David to me and say, "You have to try this carrot!" I know that they're a very standard vegetable, but because they're often served shaved and dried out or in baby carrot form people don't realize how good a fresh-from-ground carrot can be. All of your carrot pics are super cute!!
ReplyDeleteLove carrots, and love those drawings! You would have fun growing carrots, if you don't grow them already.
ReplyDeleteLove the Olympic carrots! I get a big bag of them every fortnight in my veg box, which is a fantastic thing :)
ReplyDeleteThese are the best. Car(rot)toons. Ever. <3
ReplyDeleteLately I've been letting Grey pick a vegetable we'll have with dinner. He always picks either raw carrots or cooked broccoli! Which is okay because both things are awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely acquiring a gold in the Carrot-lympics
Amey, you make me laugh. I love your drawings.
ReplyDeletelately, I've been cutting thicker carrots into fries and baking them in olive oil and sea salt at 450 until crispy. we cannot get enough of them, and went through 25lbs of carrots in less than a month!
ReplyDeleteI love your olympic carrots :D you've reminded me that it's time for more carrot fries, thank you!
Speed carroting! I like the look of concentration on their face. These are great.
ReplyDeleteCarrot luge! See, this is why yours is my favourite blog.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI have been buying pounds of carrots at the FM. We juice them, cook with them, add them to salads, and just reach into the bag and eat them again and again!
I may have to try skiing on them... if only there was snow.
Amey! I love these!! Yr doodles faaaaar surpass mine for my zine!! You are always so fun and inventive. Love the slope style carroting, and the luge, ha!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post! My personal favorite is slope-style. And carrot fries? That had never occurred to me -- definitely going to try it.
ReplyDeleteYour carrotry is much appreciated! Thank you for sharing the ROOT of your obsession with us :D
ReplyDeleteGosh, your cartoons are just so darn awesome! Love it! The hubs made me fabulous ginger-maple-lemon carrots the other day for dinner. Now I want some more! Plus I always like watching the olympics. Excellent combination!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up, Amey! I think I'll take up speed carrotting.
ReplyDeleteHa ha – carrot capers! I've thrown a couple of surprise parties, and the hardest thing for me is to not laugh. No matter what anyone says before the party, I laugh and laugh. I have to keep thinking of funny things to say so the laughing seems more 'normal'. You always have the best food at your parties!
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero. You have such a magnificent sense of playfulness and whimsy. And I LOVE the Olympics! I'm watching them every chance I get.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best thing ever!!
