Cookies From a Friend

Recently, a friend and former colleague of mine emailed me to say that she has started up a cookie-baking business. The world needs more cookies! Her new business is called Lizzie's Cookie Jar, and she wanted to know if I would do a little cookie jar illustration/logo for her.

I won't lie, I sorta slacked on it, but once I got going, it was a super fun project. I drew up a whole bunch of different cookies and cookie jars and finally she picked out a couple of favorites. She offered to pay me (which was very sweet of her!), but I didn't feel like charging her.

Happily though, she sent me a whole box of Vegan Apple Oatmeal Spice Cookies! Now that's a form of payment I can get behind! The whole presentation was really lovely. The cookies arrived in a pretty turquoise box (inside a USPS delivery box). Inside was bright, cheery green tissue paper. It was really fun to see my little cookie drawing right there when I opened the box.

Liz isn't a vegan, so I think it's super cool that she offers vegan cookies in three flavors!

Inside, each cookie was carefully wrapped in saran wrap to keep them super fresh. I usually just put all my cookies in one zip lock baggie before shipping, but this seems like a really good system.

You probably can't tell from this picture how delicious and amazing that cookie is. First of all, they are pretty big, which is awesome. But, they're also super moist and chewy and pretty much just totally great. Also, I did some research, and it turns out they are also totally delicious straight out of the freezer.  Luckily, I have a few more in there awaiting my next snack-attack.

I love cookies so much and yet I almost always have to make them for myself.
So, this was a really special treat, and it was also nice to help out an old friend.
Win-win! :)

I love comments, they really make my day! Thanks for reading my blog! I'm sorry I had to turn on word verification and comment moderation - I was getting so many spam comments!
